Emotional Day All The Way Around

Remembering 9/11 ....i remember where I was and what I was doing...wow what a day. Glued to the news for the rest of that week! Hard to believe that is was 8 years ago, seems like only yesterday!

I have been mean lately. Just plain mean. I cry at the drop of a pin, I snap at anyone who crosses me, I have no patience....and I am sorry. I am sorry to my kids for having such a moody mom lately, I am sorry to my Mom for snapping at her every time she calls, I am sorry to Mike for yelling because he is trying to be funny to cheer me up...

I am sorry.

I know I am mad about things out of my control, no job, no money because unemployment takes their good ole time because they can...bored as hell during the day....I will be nice again I promise...I just can't be now.....

I just keep saying this over and over:

Sunday, my favorite day of the week...only better when my 14 year old and I hang out all day and have a great day. Being 14 those are few and far between here lately!!

I have an INTERVIEW!!!!

Got a phone call this afternoon and I have an interview tomorrow at 12:30pm!! Yippee!!!

This stay at home mom stuff isn't all it is cracked up to be...i do more "running mom" than anything!! Anyway, the interview is for a good company that has been around for a long time. It is an HR position...so I am keeping my fingers crossed. It is in the same town that I was working in so it will still be about a 30 minute drive...not bad though!

WOW...WOW...and WOW again!

Well as of 1pm today I officially became one of the many many unemployed.....I am pissed, i have cried, i have cried some more...now i guess i need to put on my big girl pants and dig in! What is really frustrating though? When you get laid off from the STAFFING industry...you tend to be discouraged in job hunting before you even begin...since you know better than anyone...there are few jobs to be had right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could probably do one for baseball but I don't have a very good voice for that type of thing so I think you would turn me off pretty quickly!

hot tea, and I still like to color when I am sick...i am not sure what it is about coloring when you are sick, but it is so soothing for me.

Introducing our newest family member.....

her name is MJ...my mom found her outside the nursing home where she works...and since they have pretty much kidnapped...(haha)...our other cat Tango... MJ is now ours...she is only 6 weeks old.

Loving my life right now!

I am totally loving my life right now. I have an awesome family, a great boyfriend and a sweet house! Life for me has not been this great for a long long time! Work is good, getting busy, home is wonderful, school is going just fine. My kids are healthy...my 14 year old could outgrow this funk she is in any minute now...but she will come around.

I guess I just wanted everyone to know that I am loving life! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Out of the mouths of......9 year olds?

I was taking a bath last night, which when i do so I am ALWAYS accompanied by my 9 year old daughter. Ever since she was a baby she has sat in the bathroom with me while I take a bath....not sure why...but anyway...I was sitting in the tub washing and talking when all of the sudden she says,"why do you have VINES there?" (pointing at my chest). I look down and I am like, "What? Vines?, I don't have any Vines on me."
She points again and says. "right there, those blue things, vines...."
I said, "do you mean VEINS?" ,
she said, "yea, whatever those are called."
I am like, "you are going into 4th grade and you thought all this time that those things are caleed VINES?"

I was shocked!! lol This is my child that is, or so I thought, a little more advances than most 9 year olds! Too funny!

The Secret Life of....SEX

Last night I was putting some things away in the dining room and kept hearing, "sex blah blah blah sex blah blah blah sex...i started counting, in about a minute in a half conversation on TV I counted the word Sex about 11 times. I walked in to see what my 9 year old was watching....The Secret Life of an American Teenager....I said what in the world, can they say SEX anymore? What is the deal? I don't know much about this show, it looked like a decent show, looked ok for kids...but can we promote SEX anymore? I am going to have to to some You Tubing of the past episode I think!!! Does anyone watch this show? I am going to watch it next Monday jsut so I can count from the beginning how many times they say SEX!!!

Well, my last post was May 15th! Let's see if I can't try to get back into the swing of things here and at least shoot for one a week!

Things are going great for me right now. One more week until I finish my 1st 9 weeks of school. It is going great actually. I have A's ...so far so good!

Kids are great, enjoying the summer break so far. We went to Kings Island with the kids last weekend. Kings Island is an amusement park here in Ohio. They have I think the oldest and biggest wooden roller coaster around, it is about 5 minutes long and goes about 62 mph. This was one of my first roller coaster rides ever and is now my daughters. They loved it. My oldest has already experienced coasters but not my youngest. She was hesitant at first but enjoyed it.

Alot of deaths this week, Farrah, Ed and Michael! How tragic! I was watching CNN and MSNBC last night at my mom's. I will agree that Michael Jackson was a pop icon....but NOT better than Elvis and the Beatles...as the news station were reporting. I just find that statement hard to believe.....but anywho....RIP celebs!

Hello out there!!

Well, school started on Monday. So far so good. We only take 2 classes at a time, they last 9 weeks each. Right now I am taking a General Distance learning course which everyone has to take and a writing course. It hasn't been bad at all so far. I may be hitting my sister up on the writing course though! My final project in that class is a Power point presentation.... thank goodness my 14 year old can do power point!

Weather is beautiful here today! Rain tomorrow of course since i am off.

Macy started ball practice last week, she is such a hot dog out in the field...ball hog...she loves it though.

Emily has been trucking along at her school work...8th grade graduation is June 2nd...i can't believe my "baby" will be in high school next year!! Her dance is May 29th, so we need to go dress shopping next week for her.

Call Me Crazy.....

I am officially enrolled in school....

I am signed up, scheduled, and have already completed my Biography....I start May 11!!

I am attending the University of Phoenix, online. I am taking Healthcare Administration....yes I am still working FT, and yes I still have my 14 & 9 year old...and YES I am going to do this.....I have to do this.

As most of you know I am a staffing specialist. Well, let me tell you...the staffing world "ain't" to pretty out there right now in case you haven't noticed. I figure that people will always need health care, besides my first career choice has always been in the health field. I went into Nursing out of HS...but found better things to do at school....i worked in a nursing home for about 7 or 8 years and it has just been downhill for me ever since i quit there.

I have always wanted to have a degree...but for some reason or other my plans always fell thru...well not this time by gosh...i am going to do this.!!!

On the homefront:

Things are GREAT!! Kids are great. Ball season is in full swing...no pun intended...lol...Mike's son plays high school baseball which consists of at least 3 games week. My youngest starts practice tonight and will play 2 games a week for 4 weeks starting in June. Emily is ready for school to be out...she is looking forward to babysitting her sister this summer I am sure! Yard sale this weekend. This yard sale is a huge deal in my neighborhood...but a headache if you live there and need to get out of the neighborhood. But a little extra cash is always good.

Mike and I are good. I finally feel like I have someone that respects me, accepts me and my kids, enjoys us and makes us laugh!!

Yes people....i am finally HAPPY!!!!!

Well...my kids...if I told you everything that they are talking about we would be here all day, trust me! I have a 9 year old that talks NON STOP!!

...but....my kids are all a-buzz about my sister being home. Her, her husband and her kids are here visiting from California...my kids are HAPPY. We are having a surprise 60th birthday party on Friday for my parents whose birthdays are 3 days apart...the kids are excited.

My 14 year old I would imagine is talking to her friends at school right now about how "mean" her mom is for 1st grounding her from the computer earlier this week and 2nd from her cell phone last night. I can hear her now....that sweet little Angel O'mine...and of course the boy talk....i am sooooo sick of hearing about boys...i don't think I even liked boys at age 14?

On that note...I would like to take a minute to apologize to my mother...if I acted like that when I was 14....i am so very sorry...from the bottom of my heart I am sorry! Just be thankful that I didn't have a cell phone and computer and Facebook back then...that wouldn't have been pretty I am sure!

Here I am.....

I am sorry to all of my faithful blog readers. I did not fall off the face of the earth...I am still here. Things are going great and truthfully I just needed a break.

My sister and her family are home from California this week!! So great to see them. The kids are getting so big...and that boy....what a cutie!! My sister has her hands full there for sure!! Thank god for my girls...i don't think I cold handle a boy, honestly...my hat off to her for sure!!

Saturday we all walked up to a ball game at the HS in our town...chilly it was! Then Saturday evening we all, 12 of us, went out to eat at a local Pizza place. Fun times!! Then the kids all went back to grandma's to color eggs. It was finally time to go home to get ready for Easter morning and church. Sunday morning we all went to church...12 of us again....after that we hung out at mom's all day. We had alot of fun playing outside, basketball, badminton, and the best of all....CORNHOLE!! What a fun time!!!

The girls have been great, good grades this last quarter, they both got all A's and B's!!! Macy has been losing teeth left and right...hasn't hindered her talking ability at all though! :) Emily is boy crazy...and once again grounded from FB...I am not she will ever learn!!

I have been doing great. I have a new "friend" that I am having alot of fun with. He makes me laugh and we have a great time together...that is all that is important right now....he is great to me and my girls....we will see what happens. So far so good.

I have pictures to post from over the weekend...i will try to get them on tonight maybe. Now I am going to go try to do some catching up on my blog reading...yucky rainy day here is Ohio....work is slow...so why not play catch up.....

April Fools

tHIS IS AN EMAIL THAT ONE OF MY CO WORKERS SENT OUR BOSS YESTERDAY...I THOUGHT IT WAS SO FUNNY!

I have decided to put my two weeks notice in as of today. The following are just a few reasons why:

10. I hate getting up so early while all my loser friends who don’t have jobs, get to sleep in.
9. We don’t have home made breakfast waiting for us every morning, what’s up with that!
8. I have a callous on my left pinky toe due to wearing dress shoes all day long….
7. The Marietta office prank calls me all day long while breathing really heavy over the phone and I can’t get my work finished..( I’ve asked them to stop several times, but they won’t ….I think I have a crush on one of them now. )
6. If I have to say “It’s a great day at Mancan” one more time while I have really bad cramps, I think I may just have to shoot someone.
5. I have nightmares sometimes that Jennifer Smith came back to Mancan, and I have to read all her ridiculous emails going on and on and on…
4. Every morning when I come to work, Terri makes me stand on one leg and sing the National Anthem, in Spanish! She said it does me good, since Spanish is the 2nd language now these days!
3. Terri & Jen’s idea of “Casual Friday” is wearing their Mancan shirts with no pants. I really can’t take seeing them in their G-strings anymore.
2. Doug Allen has now started to email me at home for jobs…
And the number one reason I am quitting:
I have found on several occasions that for free advertisement due to the cut backs, Terri has put my name and number on the bathrooms doors of many public places and it says: For a free “ job”, call Beth at Mancan!

When Heather emailed me to ask me if she could feature me this Wednesday I was soo excited!! Tuesday's Tribute

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. Dear Aunt Cheryl,You were one of the best aunts a kid could ask for!! I have such fun memories of you and that huge St Bernard, Rugby, when you lived beside PooPaw's store. I remember staying all night at your house and being scared to death of that dog! Speaking of being scared to death. You were the easiest person in the world to scare also. I will never forget the many times us kids and later on grandkids would "scare" you just because you were so fun and easy to do that to. The memories I have of Christmases and Christmas eve's at the Hall's all include you and your spoiling and loving ways. The stories I hear from Dad and your brothers about you crack me up. You may not have had an easy life and had your share of heartache and bad luck...but you always pulled through and came out on top. I will never forget you and all that you meant to our family. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!! Tell MeeMaw, PooPaw and Grandma Walker hi and we love and miss them more than ever!I love you Cheryl!!R.I.P

Not Me Monday

• I did not do absolutely anything on Saturday...that would be so lazy...but it would fell so great!

• I did not say from the time i woke up o Saturday and was still saying at 4:18pm that i was going to color my hair...talk about procrastinating.

• I did not freak out alittle when i came home from work Friday to find my back door open but locked...still wondering about this one.

• I did not totally blow off Weight watchers Saturday morning after missing it Thursday to go to my daughter's Karate...back on track this week!!I have worked too hard to let this go!!

• I did not veg out on the couch Saturday afternoon and watch a 4 hour Lifetime movie...and loved every last second of it!!

• I did not play Canasta way too much Saturday....till 11pm at least...I am NOT addicted!

• I did not start reading a new book at 11pm Saturday night and stay up until 130am because i didn't want to put it down.

• I did not scream at the top of my lungs, "there is a mouse down here!" when the mouse was clearly poisoned and barely moving...what a girly thing to do!

No more ROOTS!!!

Talk about procrastination...I should have taken a before picture so you could have seen how hideous!!!

All fixed...now back to your regularly scheduled programming!

Mice Schmice!!

I hate mice....loathe them...would rather deal with anything but mice.
I knew we had some as I had seen the droppings when we move in, although the house had set empty for about 4 months before hand.
I heard them in the walls one night and we got traps and poison etc. No more noises, signs of them nor did we catch any then, that was about a month ago...i figured they just moved on.

Today as I was sitting here playing my beloved Canasta on Pogo i saw something out of the corner of my eye. Before i even looked i knew what it was. It was moving extremely slow and alittle "drunk" looking. It had clearly gotten into the poison. Of course I screamed, "there is a mouse down here!", like a little girl. John came down and got it and threw it outside...this mouse didn't have a clue as to what was going on. Then I decided that the furnace filter needed changed, it was looking pretty bad. Lo and behold a dead baby mouse, behind the filter!

So we went into the tool room, unfinished part of the basement. One of the sticky traps that WAS under the furnace at one time was drug clear across the room over to the tool bench with dirt, bugs and mouse droppings on it. Obviously the oblivious mouse had gotten OUT of that trap in it's drunken stupor! I was too frazzled to take pics...but I am sure you are all thanking me for that!

Six Word Saturday

I am still here, i have just not had anytime it seems lately. I don't know why, I haven't taken on any other task, habits, or hobbies. Work has started picking up and when i get home it is usually the DVR calling my name lately. Nothing interesting or fun going on here, nothing new.....except for I did lose 6.8 more pounds last week at WW!!! I haven't gone yet this week, will be going tomorrow morning....so that is going well!! I have lost 17.8 total so far!!!

This weekend I plan on spending some time with my blog....just me and my blog...and of course all of you. I will be playing catch up and comment catch up etc. Hopefully I will get all caught up and back in the swing of things...maybe even, if i am real good, get some posts scheduled for Not Me Monday and Tuesday's Tribute etc.....we will see.

In the meantime I have decided to do a question and answer post too. I will see depending on how many questions I get as to how often i will post them.....so start asking away!!! Tuesday's Tribute

I would like to take this tribute this Tuesday to a wonderful blog friend. She is a great person who is so caring and thoughtful and puts so much time in to things that she really doesn't have to do. Most recently she organized and hosted a "Favorite Things Swap" which couldn't have been an easy task by any means. I believe she had well over 100 swappers participate. She just went to NY for " Fishful Thinking" (read ablut that on her blog as well). Her blog is beautiful and full of fun ideas and information. If you have never checked her out you need to...she is amazing!! I would like to thank her for the great Swap that she just organized...which i believe she is hosting another one soon...you will just have to go check her out if you haven't already!! She does month prize drawings for all of her followers as well...grab her button and follow her!!

I got the LOOT!!!

I got mine today!!

My package arrived today from Shawnee!!! She did awesome! Alot of her favorite things are my favorite things too! She sent a book by an author that I just checked out of the library today!! The floss thingys I use all the time, the girl scout cookies didn't even make it in the picture because my daughter ran off with them immediately! Have been meaning to pick up the Tide stick...now i don't have to, and the scrapping book....love it!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Monday, Monday

Did you all have a good weekend?

• I hope so. I had to work all weekend, but i get to do it from home. There are about 6 of us in our company that take turns working them. I don't mind it, all we have to do is answer phones and call and check on a few companies. We have the phones on from 7am - 7pm, but we get paid well for it. This isn't a real busy time of the year so it isn't too bad.
• I read a book on Saturday...yep a whole book. Sitting on my back porch in the beautiful 70 degree weather, work phone beside me, diet pepsi on the other side...and finished the whole thing. It was by Karen Kingsbury, This Side Of Heaven. I have never read her before and really enjoyed it. So much so I went to the lobrary at lunch today and got 2 more of her books!!
• Sunday the kiddos came home from the dad's. We palyed about 5 games of Skipbo. My youngest loves to win...and sometimes if she isn't winning, she will make the rules up to accomodate her winning!! So it is always fun!

At first I was attracted to your smile, your intelligence and your charm. I wasted every Monday night for several weeks watching you, feeling sorry for you because of the whole DeAnna thing, hoping you found the "right" one . After last night, you have made me sick! YOU are a JERK. Or, scumbag...or sleaze ball....or whatever you feel to insert here . I often wondered why you had gotten divorced in the 1st place, thought, "wow, she must have been horrible"...lol now i am not so sure it was HER!! Maybe you weren't "feeling" it for her wither....huh? I truly believe that you are a "man" who likes to see how many women he can get to "fall" for him....then move on...that is clearly what you have portrayed yourself to be and you should be ASHAMED!!! Stop your crying, quit running away when the going gets tough and be a man!! I hope I have seen the last of your, lying, squirrely (if that is a word), egotistical, shallow, pompous ass.....after tonight of course!! lol

Friday Fill -in's

Never found out what the smell was in the office....it miraculously disappeared!! very very strange! Especially since there are only 2 of us in the office!

Went to Weight watchers last night and lost another 5.6 pounds!! I am so excited! I love this diet. I have to adjust my points this week, shouldn't be a big deal since I really wasn't using all of my allotted points anyway.
While we were at the meeting, my 9 year old went with me, the leader was talking about "feeling" hungry and how alot of people will eat even when they don't have that feeling. My 9 year old says, "that's what I would do!", out loud in from of about 20 people. Everyone laughed and she was quite embarrassed as I don't think that she meant to say it that loud! Before we went in to the meeting she wanted to know if she could take her Doritos in with her...."I don't think that would be a good idea honey!"

Well...TGIF...I hope everyone has a great weekend! Rainy here today and getting cold again over the weekend...yea me!!

OMG.....this is not what I had planned for Tuesday's Tribute, but it will have to wait until next week because there is a smell like no other in our office today adn it is making me SICK!

The mailman just backed out of here plugging his nose!! haha

Manic Monday?

Phew....i thought i had ticked some people off there for a minute, unitl Sandy over at the Adams family also noticed.....people are falling off of Bloggyland....I am not sure why, but I have had 3 vanish in the last 30 minutes!!

Question and Advice appreciated

My daughter, the 14 year old has/had a Facebook account. A couple of months ago she wrote some not so good feeling about her step mom on there. She was made to take them off and her Facebook account has been monitored ever since. Here and there she will make up some stupid little status saying but other than that nothing. She then got grounded by me from her phone and Facebook for getting a D+ on Gym...that was a whole other post. She has been grounded for 3 weeks from it. Tried to access it once here at my house and I changed the password. Evidently when she was at her dad's this past week her step mother says that she tried to access it again on Thursday. Without telling anyone her step mom deactivated her account. Emily's grounding was up tonight and when i tried to log her on, since she didn't know the password, we couldn't get on. THAT was when I found out what the step mother had done. She "assumed" that all Emily would have to do is reactivate by email...NO it wipes the whole thing out.
So now her dad and i are arguing because I feel since I am the one that imposed this grounding, the step mom should have taken it up with me before deactivating the account. I feel she overstepped her boundaries.....what do you think? I now have a bawling 14 year old here, she had a ton of pictures and pictures that she created, friends and alot of "meaningful" things to a 14 year old on here. Needless to say I AM PISSED. This isn't the first time this step mom has overstepped her boundaries, but of course her husband, my ex husband only sees her side of it!

At 9am 14 years ago i was being taken to the delivery room for a C section. While they were prepping me, my mom and mil were out in the lobby taking pictures of a baby. Cooing and awing over this little baby that had "my button" nose etc...only to find out...it wasn't their grandchild yet...like they thought it was!! I think I have a picture of that "someone elses " baby somewhere! Emily was born about 930am. She was the best baby ever. Slept alot, never cried, slept all night thru at only 4 weeks old..she was perfect! She was and still is the best thing that ever happened to me!! Happy Birthday Emily...I can't believe you are 14!! You will always be my baby!!!

14 years ago

14 years ago tonight i was in the hospital in a dead end labor. I went into the hospital at 11am. Walked the halls, walked the halls some more....nothing. No labor pains, no contractions no nothing! The doc came into break my water, i am in the hospital bed laying facing the door in all my glory. In walks my dad...nice...."what's going on"...he said....uh...the Dr is breaking my water....glad you could make it!! lol Anyway the doctor, being rude as can be tells me to "RELAX" while he is "manually" making me dilate....um....I am trying, but i would be more than willing to bet, since you are a male, that you don;t know how this feels....so "SHUT IT!" Anyway...long story short, I still didn't dilate, still didn't go into labor. So, it was time for the lovely "pit" drip....still no contractions other than Braxton hicks and a little bit of back labor, still only dilated 2. Doctor comes back in, "I'll be back in in the morning, we will probably have to do a C section if you don't progress anymore....ok, i have been here 12 hours...no nothing, do you really think I am going to progress? Whatever...you're the doc. So there i lay waiting.....the nurses kept asking if I wanted the epidural, i really hadn't felt any real labor pains yet, and if I was truly going to have a c section, would have liked to have experienced some sort of childbirth pain. At about 3am i finally gave in and let them give me the epidural so I could maybe sleep alittle bit. That was fun! I slept alittle bit and then 9am February 22 came.......more tomorrow!
