My daughter's sperm donor.....

Need I say more. He never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think he can't be any more brainless he outdoes himself yet again!
Here's the story:
My 8, soon to be 9 year old, is in the 3rd grade. She took her VERY FIRST Ohio Achievement test a month or so ago. She didn't do very well at all on the practice test, in fact she even stunned the teacher she did so poorly. So she worked and worked on the things she had been taught and practiced them over and over again. She took the real test and was proud of herself, felt good about it. Well Monday she got her test results. You have to have a 400 to pass the OAT. She got a 407. She was sooooo excited. She called me as soon as she got to her grandma and grandpa's after school, "guess what mom, I got a 407 on my test! You should have heard the excitement in her voice. My dad, who I am sure doesn't really know what the OAT is, said, Boy she sure is excited about that test score isn't she?
Fast forward to after basketball practice.
Now she wants to call her dad with her exciting news. She says, Dad guess what? I got a 407 on my OAT, again with the same excitement in her voice as earlier. Then all I hear is silence from my daughter, an occasional yea, uh huh, from her. I hear his voice through the phone going on and on and on about something. Then, Ok, bye, she starts bawling. I am talking sobbing. I ask what is wrong and she says, My dad called me DUMB. ok, I am fuming It takes all I have not to pick up the phone right there in front of her and call him and give him a piece of my mind. I try to soothe her telling her that I really didn't think he called her dumb. She said, my dad said that that score is a score that dumb people would get. I can't get home fast enough to get her in the tub and out of her earshot to call this bastard! Needless to say he apologized in the end. But come on!!! You can only expect so much out of a 9 year old. Hey, she was over what she needed to pass the test...Mom is happy! I believe in making your child do the best that they can do, but that includes a little bit of praise here and there.
Macy...mommy, and sissy and John and everyone else is proud of you!!! Keep up the great work!!! We love you!!!

besides the fact that he would score a two, does he realize that the words stick with her? despite his 'apology'?

i tell my 6th graders this...maybe he should hear it:
words are like toothpaste...once out, you can't take them back!

and anyhoo...she rocked on the test! being a former Ohio teacher, that test is H.A.R.D.

Way to go Macy! Miss smarty pants!

what an emmer effer! I know Macy doesn't know me but you tell her for me that as much as those words hurt, she has to rise above it and be proud of her accomplishments. She's smarter than he'll ever be in his lifetime and he's a jerk...
