Joining in, for the first time ever, on Mama Kat's Writers Workshop!!
Go check her out...she is COOL!!! Not only her Writer's Workshop but OMG-osh...her "blogversations" are too freaking funny!!
I am choosing the prompt,
"What are your kids talking about?"
Well...my kids...if I told you everything that they are talking about we would be here all day, trust me! I have a 9 year old that talks NON STOP!!
...but....my kids are all a-buzz about my sister being home. Her, her husband and her kids are here visiting from California...my kids are HAPPY. We are having a surprise 60th birthday party on Friday for my parents whose birthdays are 3 days apart...the kids are excited.
My 14 year old I would imagine is talking to her friends at school right now about how "mean" her mom is for 1st grounding her from the computer earlier this week and 2nd from her cell phone last night. I can hear her now....that sweet little Angel O'mine...and of course the boy talk....i am sooooo sick of hearing about boys...i don't think I even liked boys at age 14?
On that note...I would like to take a minute to apologize to my mother...if I acted like that when I was 14....i am so very sorry...from the bottom of my heart I am sorry! Just be thankful that I didn't have a cell phone and computer and Facebook back then...that wouldn't have been pretty I am sure!

I think you are being a great mom...you have to take a stand, once in a while, hard as it might be. Just wait till your daughter turns 17...that's when the REAL fun begins! :)
My son is almost 14 and the girls are insane. They started calling the house a few years ago and now that he has a cell, they text their fingers to the bone. When I tell him not to give his number to them so they will leave him alone, he says that THEY WILL GET IT somehow.
oh man.. grounded from the cell and the computer sucks lol.. hang in there!!
Great, I get to look forward to that when I have kids?
Isn't it funny how grounded has to include more than just being at home now? When we were young, that was enough of a punishment. Now we have to include their gizmos!
Haha, you're absolutely right! Our parents didn't have computers, cell phones, and facebook to contend with. So, we only pseudo apologize. And, request that they give us frequent breaks from our little technological monsters.
It is funny, because I am always telling my 11 yr old daughter that what goes around, comes around. I bet your mom will say that you were the same.
I love the story about your 14 year old. It's amazing how crippled they feel w/out their cell phone & computer. You would think that they were missing a limb!
(found you via mama kat)
I love mama Kat, too. I've been participating in her Writer's Workshops for some time now. How exciting that your sister came for a visit. Did you ever find a new car?
Just wanted to say thank you for stopping by Interviews With Friends. I appreciate it.
You're a great mom. If you didn't care, you wouldn't ground her. She'll get over it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to welcome me to SITS!
Ahhh...I vaguely remember being 14. I definitely owe my mom an apology too!
LOL-my 10yrold talks from the second she wakes up until her head hits the pillow! I've also apologised to my mom. Very irritated that what goes around comes around...
hey, i have a 7-yr-old and a 4-yr-old that keep my ears a workin'!! Lately it's "Mommy guess what..." and 10 "Mommy guess what...s" later I'm deaf in one ear and the next one comes!!! ;p
Oh gosh I have a 8 year old daughter that talks from the second her feet hit the ground until her head hits her pillow..And then I have a 11 year old step-son who just got his cell phone and he is all about texting and facebooking lol if he is with out his phone for more than a few min. he just doesn't know what to do with him self it is like what did you do before you had one!! I have been reading your blog for awhile know and thought that it was time to comment..I hope you don't mind that I read!!
